Summer

As the official close of summer is tomorrow, for once in my life, (or for at least as long as I can remember, because usually fall just reminds me that winter is too soon to come)  I am excited for fall.  I am excited to wear clothes with layers, for the holidays, and to experience them with Tristan and see him get bigger and bigger.  But before moving on, here is a little of what we did this summer....

Ryan ran the Ragnar race with all of his cousins on the Egan side

Father's Day was the next day, Ryan was so sore from the race that he could barely walk, ha ha:) So, Tristan and I got him breakfast in bed, Oreos , and the traditional father's day tie and we had a bbq with the fam in the evening!  Ryan loves this boy so much and is the best dad to his little buddy!

August was $2 tuesday at Thanksgiving point so  we took full advantage of that and went to the gardens almost every tuesday that month

Tristan invited his buddy Swede with him who his 6 weeks older and they inspected the grass together:)

We went on a couple of hikes... Tristan loved it, but you can't blame the little guy if the hike got a little too tiring

With our neigbors on our 24th of July hike
We went on the same hike with the fam visiting from out of town and my uncle paul and aunt rachel and their fam came too, it was so much!
For my birthday, Ryan took me to Salt lake for dinner at the Roof  and had a bouquet of summer flowers at the table for me and spent the day hanging out with my two favorite boys!
We went to a Real Soccer game, so much fun -  the tickets were free and we got free food and the weather was amazing!
We took Tristan swimming a couple of times, he absolutely loved it! Next summer will be a blast!

We took Tristan to the park and he loved the swings!

Ryan got me tickets to see Phantom of the Opera in Vegas for my birthday, the show was leaving Vegas beginning of September and we had always wanted to see it there so it was awesome to see it before it left and it was such a good show!
And last but not least we went to my sister Penny's wedding in Seattle.  It was a busy weekend but we had fun with all the wedding festivities and seeing Penny and Tim so happy together on their special day!

All in all a pretty good summer:)

5 months

He has grown so much over the past couple of months!  He has been such a joy to have around, he is always smiling, laughing and learning new things.  It is so cool to see this little guy grow and I just love his growing sweet  personality come out more and more each day.
Here are some of the things he has been up to....

He found his hands,  then his thumb and then his feet

He sleeps Ferris Bueler style

He loves his rice cereal

He is turning over from his tummy to his back and from his back to his side and is almost able to make it all the way back to his tummy
Loves sitting in the bumbo chair ( yes its purple not very manly but we borrowed from it a friend)
He is also reaching for toys, loves standing and lots of other things, basically as smart and as cute as you can get for being 5 months old, and no I don't think I'm biased:)

Houston

So,  Since my brother Orson just took the bar exam this week it reminded me that I hadn't posted about our trip yet which was back in May ( We took some awesome family pics on the beach that I was waiting to get some copies of but I thought I would go ahead and post without them)

Tristan did awesome on the trip!  And we had a ton of fun with the whole family being together for the first time in a long time.

Our view from the guest suite we were staying at, at Orson's downtown high rise apartment

We cheered so loud that we woke up a sleeping baby several rows down from us and got a dirty look from the dad, but hey, thats what we came here to do!

Arts and crafts time, suppossed to be for the kids but I think the adults (weird I referred to my siblings as adults) got into it more

Dang you can't see the Texas flag very well,  but  we are all Texans at heart!
