Nursery

We didn't have the nursery all the way finished before Tristan was born and there's still some finishing touches I would still like to make but for the most part its all done (been done for several months now).  Ryan spent hours and hours on this wainscotting so it deserves a post:)

Thanks to my mom for making him this cute "T" blanket and for the crib bed skirt.

He loves this musical mobile, he just smiles and smiles at it when the music is playing.

Here is the T-man enjoying his rocking chair.

Forgotten Post

I never got around to posting pics from my baby showers or of the nusery.  Old news, I know, this is mainly for me to have on here, for when  ever I get around to making a book out of this blog.

My mother in law and friends threw me this fun shower !

I made out like a bandit!

Ryan's cousin's wife threw me a shower for his family who mainly live up north of Salt Lake.

This is Tristan wearing the cutest hat and an outfit I got from the shower.

Alert: Extreme Cuteness to follow

When the T-man is in his loopy sleepy stage we can get a few belly laughs from him by squeezing his little fat rolls on his thighs. Seriously, so freakin cute! By the way I apoligize in advance for the over use of the word cute in this video and in this blog since Tristan arrived.  I wonder if that might be his first word ?

And when he's just woken up from a nap he's extra super snuggly, I will be so sad when he gets bigger and is no longer as cuddly.

Tristan's Baby Blessing

It was such a good day! He was 3 months old exactly.  My only regret is that I didnt get a real good pic of his super cute tux. I keep thinking maybe I will put him in it again and take a pic, but reallly is there ever a good time dress up your drooling, spitting up 3 month old in a tux just for a pic?

There were 5 other babies blessed that same day so our ward which is usually full was packed to the brim.   Ryan was nervous to give the blessing but did awesome.  It was fast and testimony meeting and after 6 babies were blessed and  the sacrament was passed there was about 15 min left for testimony.  I rarely bear my testimony in sacrament meeting and never since we've gotten married and especiallly in our ward as huge it is, but I made a promise to myself that it is something I would do back when we were going thru evereything to try and get this guy.  But when we walked in one of the counselors said there probably wouldn't be any  time for testimonies, so I was like whoo, off the hook.  But I think there was so little time that hardly anyone got up to bear the testimonies, so after my sweet mother in law got up and bore her testimony and made me cry I knew I had to do it and I was so glad I did, after the fact of course.

We had lots of friends and family come and Tristan looked absolutely adorable in his little white tux! We had a little luncheon at the park by our house, it was a little warm but still fun!

THis is 4 generation of Howard Egans!

Introducing Tristan!

He is two months old! I can't imagine our life without him now. He has been smiling at us the past couple of weeks and it is the best thing in the world! For the first month he did a lot sleeping, I had to wake him up to feed him most of the time. He only woke up about once in the night sometime in between 3 -5 am to eat. At about 5 weeks my perfect baby that I bragged about to everyone turned into a real baby. He definitly wakes up on his own to eat now and stays awake and it actually takes some effort to get him to sleep sometimes. Theres been a couple of days when at 4pm in the afternoon when I haven't showered, I'm still in my bathrobe, I have spit up in my hair, smell faintly of baby pee, I'm sleepy and I havent eaten a morsel all day, I think to myself this is what I wanted, and it is, I love this guy so incredibly much and motherhood, not that I feel like a real "mom" yet.

Just a few of the things I love about this guy...

everytime he wakes up and after every feeding he does a full on stretch with his arms way above his head... so adult like and so adorable.

during tummy time I'll face his head away from me and get on his other side and talk to him until with all his little effort he'll finally get his head turned towards me and now he can even keep his head up for a little while

I love weekend naps with this guy and especially family nap time is the best

we swaddle him every night even though he protests, he's a regular little houdini and most of the time manages to wriggle his little arms out of it

he loves being held upright looking over my shoulder so he can look out at the world, which mainly consists of our house until this week we are braving taking this little guy all the way out to Houston for his uncle orson's law school graduation.

so far he tolerates bath time ok, he has sort of a concerned look on his face throughout the bath, but he's like his mom, he doesn't like to be cold, so as soon as he's taken out of the warm water he protests until he's safely enconsed in his warm bath towel. This is one of his first baths.

did I mention his smile.... I even love his cries, although most of the time its just complaining unless he's just woken up from a nap and realized he is starving and then its a full on feed me now demand!!

Tristans New Born Photos

Sorry for the double dose of pictures if you saw them on face book too. I think they turned out so good. If I hadnt made the appointment before I had him we probably wouldn't have gotten around to doing it so I am so glad we did. Thanks to my mom for coming and getting peed on right before we were about to take the pics. I have found that the cheapo walmart new born diapers work way betther than huggies or pampers for this little guy. I cant believe he is going to be one month old soon. We love having little Tristan finally here.
