He is two months old! I can't imagine our life without him now. He has been smiling at us the past couple of weeks and it is the best thing in the world! For the first month he did a lot sleeping, I had to wake him up to feed him most of the time. He only woke up about once in the night sometime in between 3 -5 am to eat. At about 5 weeks my perfect baby that I bragged about to everyone turned into a real baby. He definitly wakes up on his own to eat now and stays awake and it actually takes some effort to get him to sleep sometimes. Theres been a couple of days when at 4pm in the afternoon when I haven't showered, I'm still in my bathrobe, I have spit up in my hair, smell faintly of baby pee, I'm sleepy and I havent eaten a morsel all day, I think to myself this is what I wanted, and it is, I love this guy so incredibly much and motherhood, not that I feel like a real "mom" yet.
Just a few of the things I love about this guy...
during tummy time I'll face his head away from me and get on his other side and talk to him until with all his little effort he'll finally get his head turned towards me and now he can even keep his head up for a little while
I love weekend naps with this guy and especially family nap time is the best
we swaddle him every night even though he protests, he's a regular little houdini and most of the time manages to wriggle his little arms out of it
he loves being held upright looking over my shoulder so he can look out at the world, which mainly consists of our house until this week we are braving taking this little guy all the way out to Houston for his uncle orson's law school graduation.
did I mention his smile.... I even love his cries, although most of the time its just complaining unless he's just woken up from a nap and realized he is starving and then its a full on feed me now demand!!
